G.Skill

As you should hopefully remember, we actually built a rig for this year's G.Skill booth! The standard across the board was very high, as expected, with everybody really stepping up their games this year. G.Skill's been quite heavily involved in the modding scene, often supplying the memory for contests such as LDLC's annual modding trophy. For the booth this year, we were asked to design scratch builds, which of course meant everything was fair game. Mike Petereyns, Stuart Tonks, and myself chose to go the route of trying to work the heat spreader design from the Trident Z modules into our cases, while Jesse Palacio went with an Apex loot tick for his one.

Whilst I'm very much a proponent of competitive modding, it's also nice to see collaborative works too. Being able to bounce ideas off one another is exactly the process that makes places like our project log forums and other active modding communities so vibrant. It was also definitely good fun egging each other on to push a little further each time. Note that a couple of the shots below aren't from the event itself, as they were so big that I wasn't able to capture them on video in one frame properly.

Be Quiet!

Alongside some new cases and cooler revisions, Be Quiet! decided to bring along some mods this year, including one that I hope you may recognise! The Fortnite rig we did for the LDLC 2018 modding trophy is very much alive and kicking and survived the trip to Taipei fine enough. It was joined by mods from Tim 'Hukkel' Warning and Justin 'MetallicAcid' Ohlsen.
